Brushing away the sand |
The following transcript includes both the text from the captions and a text version of the audio descriptions. ( wind blowing strongly ) DESCRIPTION: Now, in the desert, a man kneels beside the base of a broken stone column and sweeps sand with a four-inch-wide, dry paintbrush. He uncovers a shard of pottery, the size of a deck of cards. With the brush's wooden handle, he scrapes a little sand from the edges of the shard, then gently sweeps away more sand. All around him, tiny stones and pottery shards lie encrusted in the hardened sand. |
