This area of the exhibit presents a reconstruction of a fictional Nubian pyramid chapel. This large stone structure would have been constructed on the front of the pyramid marking the grave of the deceased person. Worshippers would have left offerings to the person here. The walls of the chapel are carved with scenes honoring the ruler. In this area, you experienced how archaeologists think - from rebuilding part of the chapel wall to learning the symbolism of some of the images carved into the wall, to making a bracelet with your name spelled in the (as yet undeciphered) Nubian written language, called "Meroitic."
