In the tomb, you found a partially excavated burial chamber. Many objects surrounded the deceased person's skeleton and you could examine the objects to learn more about how the person lived. You could also explore the (plastic) skeleton to estimate how tall the person might have been and to figure out whether it was male or female. The digNubia tomb is a fictional tomb although the chamber, the artifacts, and the skeleton are based on research done in the pyramids of Meroë. In fact, none of the real royal mummies of Meroë survived until modern times. Dampness or tomb robbers destroyed most of the bodies. The digNubia tomb contains a skeleton, as it might have appeared had it been better preserved. Bones tell archaeologists a lot about how ancient people lived and visitors to the digNubia exhibit can explore how evidence is gathered from an ancient skeleton and what that evidence can reveal about that ancient person's life.
